I did this sketch a while back and finally got around to making it. This time I decided to try a totally different method of coloring, and shading. Instead of using black I went with brown for the line art. I really like the way it came out. I also did the shading is different steps in order to give it a more gradual effect than the hard cartoon shaded cell style I've been doing. I think that the shading came out nicely as well. The background was really a challenge, but I love a challenge. Funny things is I spent much more time on the characters than the background. I'm really pleased with the way this piece turned out. I hope you all enjoy it.
---Story--- When the boys arrive in gym class they get a surprise. They find the gym full of large red balls. Couch Millner has decided they are going to play a game, a game Zo's brother has warned him about, a game of life and death. Everyone is excited except Zo who tells everyone "I don't know why your smiling, were in a fight for our lives here" Who will survive when the game of Death Dodgeball gets underway?
Total Time: 5 Hours total.
Characters: Hand drawn on paper, scanned, digitally inked and colored in Photoshop CS3.
WAHHH don't hit me!! wahhh! I always hated dodge ball... xD!!! I'm a scary pants! anyway! really cool drawing! I really like how you made the background and ofcourse the characters! great job! !
I liked dodge ball until I got to middle school, and we started playing with volleyballs wrapped with cloth tape. That's when it truly became Death Dodge ball for me. Thank you, I'm glad you like it.
